Video Of LeBron James Pre-Game Ritual Is Going Viral
LeBron James Trends After Performing Pre-Game Ritual In Viral Video

LeBron James has a tried and tested pre-game ritual that has made up an iconic part of his decorated career. The NBA icon usually walks over to the side of the court, covers his hands in chalk and then throws some of it up into the air before clapping.

It’s not something spectacular for NBA players to rub chalk on their hands before game to improve grip, in fact, it’s a common practice among the players.

LeBron began his own ritual around it during his rookie season with Cleveland in 2003 and as his status in the game grew, the chalk throwing followed suit with fans loving it. His pre-game routine has been caught on camera by thousands of supporters several times, and some will even join by throwing their hands into the air at the same time.

A new video has surfaced showing James performing his pre-game ritual. Although it’s nothing new, some fans have been wondering what’s behind it.

Well, LeBron James said in a feature honoring Sanders as the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year that the Pro Football Hall of Famer and Colorado Buffaloes head coach influenced his pre-game rituals.

“Prime Time is the one who taught me: ‘Look good, feel good. Feel good, play good. Play good, they pay good.’ I still lay my uniform out on the floor and take a look at it before I put it on. I got that from Deion,” James said.

“He always looked good on the field—and he didn’t just talk about it, he was about it. It was amazing to watch.”
