YNW Melly Speaks On Kendrick Lamar’s Stray On “Like That”

It’s safe to say Kendrick Lamar has mastered the art of resurfacing with a controversy. The Compton spitter has since been trending over his fire verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That” off their recently released album “We Don’t Trust You.”

On the track, K. Dot took shots at J. Cole and Drake, responding to his reference on the duo’s previously released song “First Person Shooter.”

“Sneak dissin’, first person shooter, I hope they came with three switches. I crash out, like, ‘F**k rap,’ this Melly Mell if I had to/Got two Ts with me, I’m snatchin’ chains and burnin’ tattoos, it’s up/Lost too many soldiers not to play it safe/If he walk around with that stick, it ain’t Andre 3K,” Kendrick raps on the track.

Incarcerated rapper YNW Melly, thought he caught a stray on the verse when Lamar said “I crash out, like, ‘F**k rap,’ this Melly Mell if I had to/Got two Ts with me.” The verse seems to be about Grandmaster Melly Mel, one of the pioneers of Hip Hop, but YNW Melly who’s currently on trial for double murder, has now reacted to it.

“Wasn’t ready for this stray @kendricklamar you gone at least share my single today,” Melly wrote on a screenshot of Kendrick’s lyrics he shared on his Instagram story.

DJ Akademiks reposted the Story on his page and Melly slid into the comments to add more. “@kendricklamar thought we was cool I sent you my vocals for your record come on OGI’m innocent #FreeMe,” he wrote.
