Billie Eilish had fans going wild after she played a snippet of her upcoming song “Lunch” which was full of sexu*lly explic*t lyrics, during her Coachella DJ set. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Billie opened up about the inspiration behind the track.

“That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real,” the “Bad Guy” singer told the publication.

“I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after. I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand—until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina,” Billie Eilish continued.

The controversial lyrics of the track suggests the theme for Billie’s forthcoming album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, which she says will return to the sound of 2019’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

“So now she’s coming up the stairs / So I’m pulling up a chair / And I’m putting up my hair,” Billie sings in the teased lyrics. “I could eat that girl for lunch / And she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one.”

The 22-year-old Grammy Award winning singer later detailed her reaction to speculation over her sexuality “I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years,” she added. “It’s really frustrating to me that it came up.”

Back in December, Billie Eilish came out as gay and said she thought her queer identity was obvious. Eilish had previously mentioned in a Variety cover story that she’s attracted to women: “I love them so much,” she said.

Speaking on the red carpet about the Variety cover story and the concept of coming out, she casually said, “I just don’t really believe in it. I’m just like, why can’t we just exist? I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I just didn’t talk about it. Whoops. But … I saw the article and I was like, ‘Oh! I guess I came out today!’” Eilish said with a laugh.
