ESSENCE Magazine Names Damson Idris Their First Ever ‘Sexiest Man Of The Moment

The inaugural ESSENCE Sexiest Men of the Moment list has arrived, and the magazine’s first May/ June cover star is Damson Iris. The ‘Snowfall’ actor has been named Essence Magazine’s first ever ‘sexiest man of the moment.’

It’s been wins on wins for the Idris, he recently won best drama actor, his first NAACP Image Award, for his role in the FX crack series, which wrapped its six-season run last year.

“I’ve heard that you wanted to start a family of your own one day. You also have 16 nieces and nephews. How do you feel you would be as a parent?” ESSENCE asked the actor. “Oh man, I’II be the best dad. Yeah, I’ll be so cool. It doesn’t matter what age I’ll be, I’ll still be the cool dad. Like, Yeah, my dad’s coming to pick me up from school. I’ll just love it, you know? love kids,” Damson replied.

“Being an uncle is amazing. Right now, it’s beautiful because I get to take the baby and then give it back, but I can’t wait to be a father and have a big family,” he added.

“I was reading and saw that you mentioned that you grew up with a single mother. I also was raised by a single mother. (Hey, Mama) How do you feel like that experience shaped you?” ESSENCE asked again in the cover story.

“I just have a love for women. My mother was a Black woman, and that love there stays with me. I feel protected by Black women. I feel loved by Black women. I feel at home. My mother is my hero, my best friend, my guru,” Damson replied.

Fans have since been reacting to the declaration of Damson Idris as the first sexiest man of the moment by ESSENCE. “When I met him at the Oscars party I nearly passed out! And he was so nice!” someone commented. “Because one thing about him, he’s super fine and look like like he smell like clean linen,” another person wrote.

“I LOVE THAT THEIR NOT WAITING FOR PEOPLE MAGAZINE TO TELL THE WORLD WHO’S SEXY,” someone else shared. “That man is so fine and if you can’t appreciate it get out these comments fr,” another user added.
