A Clark County School District substitute teacher was arrested Thursday after getting into an altercation with a student at Valley High School.

The student allegedly called the substitute a racial slur. Well, the teacher has been released without bail after a Friday court appearance.

Re’Kwon Smith, 27, a substitute teacher, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a felony count of battery with substantial bodily harm.

He’s also facing misdemeanor charges of threat to a student causing fear, interference with a student attending school and assault on school property.

The judge told him his freedom was contingent on him staying away from school property and avoiding contact with the victim.

“I’m just going to say, if your teacher name is Re’Kwon you should know not to try him. These kids play too much,” someone commented. “If ” I FIGHT KIDS” was a person,” another person joked.

“That teacher definitely a 90s baby, we not them old school Adults boo. We knuckin & bucking & ready to fight,” someone else penned.

“Teachers go through TOO MUCH. And they are underpaid. Some of the parents don’t make it no better,” another user added.
