Woman Who Underwent Chemotherapy After Being Given 15 Months To Live Finds Out She Never Had Cancer, Doctor Congratulated Her Instead of Apologizing

Lisa Monk of College Station, Texas, went to a hospital for a CT scan at the end of 2022 after having stomach symptoms she assumed were from a kidney stone. The 39-year-old was informed of her “fatal” cancer diagnosis at a check-up session following spleen surgery and was given an ‘optimistic’ 15 months to live.

At her consultation, the test revealed she had two kidney stones, as well as a mass on her spleen, which was removed in January of last year. Monk claims the organ was transported to three separate pathology labs before being evaluated at a fourth lab, where it was found to be positive for an aggressive form of blood vessel cancer.

Monk was admitted to the hospital right away in March 2023 to begin her first round of chemotherapy. Lisa received another round of ‘very harsh’ chemotherapy after losing all of her hair, resulting in ‘ silvery skin’ and vomiting. But at a routine hospital appointment in April, she alleges she was told that she never had cancer and that the first pathology result was incorrect.

She alleges that once her organ was examined, the hospital’s test came back clear, indicating that she had never had cancer, but that the hospital did not review their findings until the April appointment, which she claims was a month later. Unfortunately, Lisa never had Cancer and is now struggling with the consequences . The doctor even congratulated Ms. Monk like she actually beat it according to the Monks Mother.

“Financially we’re still paying medical bills. Cancer is expensive and I couldn’t get any of my bills dismissed. Just the emotional trauma too. It was a very dark time…. I was writing goodbye letters and letters to the grandchildren I would never meet and the weddings I would never attend.”

Lisa added on to say that she still looked like she had cancer despite the treatment and although a year has passed her health is “ruined” and her insides are “cooked”.

“Oh so she OWNS a hospital, medical office, a doctor, his secretary, dog, kids, the FDC and a few hundred million dollars now right?!” someone commented. “I can’t imagine how traumatizing that was. She needs to be paid big time for this,” another person wrote. “Wont take nothing less then a billion for the settlement,” someone else penned.

“Hire a great lawyer! No way ahead of should have to suffer emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially and get NOTHING but a congratulations! This is unethical is so many ways. Not to mention the emotional and mental trauma on those who love her and was there to support- UNREAL! I pray she gets some sort of compensation,” another user added.
