Abandoned Bags Of Fertilizer Believed To Be The Cause Of Lebanon Explosion
A massive twin explosion rocked the capital city of Lebanon on Tuesday, causing a wide range destruction of properties and loss of life. At least 100 people were killed in the blast and more than 4,000 others were injured.
Acccording to reports, the explosion was so powerful that it overturned cars, damaged buildings and buried victims.
However, the cause of the blast is believed to have been abandoned bags of fertilizer. Officials reported they believe 2,750 tons of fertilizer has caused the deadly explosion in Beirut after a Russian businessman abandoned his cargo ship due to an unscheduled stop.

The New York Post shared that the warehouse explosion killed at least 100 and left 300,000 homeless due to ammonium nitrate fertilizer that was stored in the cargo ship since 2014.
The cargo ship called the MV Rhosus is owned by Russian national Igor Grechuskin, who currently lives in Cyprus. After it traveled from Georgia to Mozambique in 2013, the ship reportedly developed some issues and made an unplanned stop in Beirut.
Years before the incident, officials have issued a warning about the dangers of storing ammonium nitrate and could have disastrous consequences.
