Brazilians Poisoning Monkeys Over Fears They’re To Blame For Monkeypox Outbreak
Brazilians have started poisoning monkeys over misplaced fears they are to blame for the growing monkeypox virus outbreak. At least 10 monkeys had been poisoned in less than a week in the city of Sao Jose do Rio
Preto, in Sao Paulo state, local reports said.
Similar incidents were reported in other cities, prompting the World Health Organisation on Tuesday to urge people not to k*ll the animals over the virus. ‘People have to know that the transmission we see now is among humans,’ said Margaret.
