Plus-Size Travel Influencer Demands Free Airline Seats For Plus-Size Passengers

A plus-size travel influencer is demanding that airlines provide better accommodations for larger customers or even provide free seats, according to the NY Post.

Jae’lynn Chaney started a Change.org petition to “Demand for the FAA to Protect Plus-Sized Customers.”

She highlighted several accommodations that the Federal Aviation Administration can implement, such as “providing larger seats, seat belt extenders, and alternative seating arrangements.”

Chaney continued saying “All plus-size passengers should be provided with an extra free seat, or even two or three seats depending on their size, to accommodate their needs and ensure their comfort during the flight.”

An alleged discriminatory incident against Chaney and her husband ignited the petition. She stated that passengers refused to sit next to them, gave disapproving looks and spewed hateful comments at them.

“On another flight, I was forced to occupy only one seat with immovable armrests that caused me pain and bruises,” she stated.

Chaney expressed that the fact that she and her husband purchase extra seats independently yet still receive mistreatment from travelers and staff has caused her pain.
