In October 2023, in Taylorsville Utah, 63-year-old Sandra Miller passed away due to injuries she sustained from her son’s seven pit bulls! Her 38-year-old son, Jeremy Miller, is now facing seven charges of attack by animal over the death of his mother, according to recent reports.
When Sandra Miller was attacked in Taylorsville on October 31, she suffered various injuries to her hands, face, and legs. She passed away a few days after having one of her legs amputated, according to KSL News Radio.
When officers arrived at the scene they report that they even attempted to pepper spray the seven dogs but they were still attacking! “The dogs were still extremely aggressive, and it took multiple Taylorsville City Police officers and animal control officers to keep the dogs away from the victim and contained in the yard,” charging documents seen by Fox 13 read.
The mother attempted to flee from the group after the victim was brought to safety, according to the site, and the officers attempted to approach the dogs. The dog had been shot at least six times by this point. After that, Mr. Miller was phoned, and he showed up at the house after about twenty minutes.
“[He] was clearly upset about his fence being damaged and his dogs being taken by animal control,” the papers stated.
The other six dogs were eventually put down and although Mr. Miller wasn’t home during the time of the attack, he still is responsible for the dogs and therefore liable for the offense.
