Kim Kardashian Faces Heavy Criticism After Launching ‘Kimono’ Shapewear
Kim Kardashian just launched a shape wear for females to maintain good body shape, the shape wear named ‘Kimono’ solutionwear.
She’s been facing heavy criticism after unveiling the shapewear, fans believe she’s trying to copy Rihanna’s Fenty line.

She shared the news with the caption :
“Finally I can share with you guys this project that I have been developing for the last year,” she announced to her fans on Tuesday. “I’ve been passionate about this for 15 years. Kimono is my take on shapewear and solutions for women that actually work.
“I would always cut up my shapewear to make my own styles, and there have also been so many times I couldn’t find a shapewear color that blended with my skin tone so we needed a solution for all of this.”
According to MTO.. Kim already has ‘KKW Beauty’ under her belt, which is not as successful as Rihanna’s ‘FENTY Beauty’ or even as successful as her younger sister Kylie Jenner’s beauty brand – but her desire to now move into the underwear space has some fans reeling.
It has also been revealed that Kim has filed a trademark for the word ‘Kimono.’ A kimono by definition is “a long robe with wide sleeves traditionally worn with a broad sash as an outer garment by the Japanese,” according to the dictionary.

Nice underwear, but as a Japanese woman who loves to wear our traditional dress,👘 kimono, I find the naming of your products baffling (since it has no resemblance to kimono), if not outright culturally offensive, especially if it’s merely a word play on your name. One is KIMONO. One is Kim shamelessly selling a line of shapewear. Which y’all don’t need. #kimono pic.twitter.com/RC3vuA4dd1— Tamlyn Tomita (@thetamlyntomita) June 25, 2019
Naming your product/startup with Japanese words might seem hip and all, but it really sucks for us when our culture is diluted by names of brands that don’t have anything to do with what the word actually represents.
And better yet, trademarking it? F NO.https://t.co/8pFaEGdXI2— Yuka Ohishi (@0oyukao0) June 25, 2019
Is it just me or is Kim Kardashian late to everything? She got in the cosmetic game LATE despite women copying her signature makeup look years and now shapewear? Sis has been in body stockings since her career launched. Why now?

Hmm. Her Fenty beauty solution to Spanx? I say: No Thanx.— Manuela Helena da Costa-Fernandes (@ManuelaFern1) June 25, 2019
So now Kim kardashian has a new shapewear collection out. Guess Rihanna was killing it too much with her collections. #KimKardashian #rihanna #FENTY pic.twitter.com/MqgAs4AS14— EternalWomen (@EternalWomenInc) June 25, 2019
