Nicki Minaj Never Wanted To Use A Ghostwriter

Nicki Minaj is arguably the greatest female rapper ever. She’s been making waves for over a decade now and her legacy cannot be overlooked.

Back in July of last year, Nicki took to instagram to alight her tremendous effort of 12 years in Hip Hop. Recounting never using a ghost writer in her entire career.

“12 years ago I dropped my 1st mixtape, wrote every single word on every single song. I was so proud of that. “I never had a group of men in the studio writing my songs for me so it took a while between albums,” she continues, warning the naysayers accordingly. “Please stop these write ups about what I didn’t do. Y’all are rlly sick & ima call y’all out one by one on Queen Radio.”

Earlier this week, Production team Full Force visited The Breakfast Club to celebrate the 30th anniversary of House Party, where they revealed that Nicki Minaj once turned down a record deal because they wanted her to use ghostwriters.

They say that they began working with her, first when she was part of a rap group, then later as a solo artist, when they had a meeting with Kevin Liles at Warner Bros.

At the time [the label] wanted Juelz Santana to write for her, and she refused,” said Paul Anthony. “Nicki always had a thing about writing her own sh*t.”

Nicki’s pen game has always been a massive deal for her and a fact she regularly uses to go at the competition. Nicki takes great pride in writing her own rhymes.
