BET Awards 2020: Megan Thee Stallion Beats Nicki Minaj & Cardi B For Best Female Hip Hop Artist – Wins 2 Awards
The BET Awards 2020 held last night, making it the 20th annual edition. There were thrilling performances from guest artists including Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Chloe X Halle, DaBaby and more.
One of the biggest performers at the 2020 BET Awards is arguably Megan Thee Stallion. Hot Girl Meg performed her recently released single ‘Girls In The Hood.
Megan Thee Stallion also performed her hit song ‘Savage‘, the remix of which eventually clinched the number one spot on Billboard chart after she recruited Beyonce on it. She was also among the biggest winners at the event after getting 5 nominations.
Megan won the ‘Best Female Hip Hop Artist’ Award. The other nominees in the category includes Cardi B, Doja Cat, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj and Saweetie.
During her speech, Megan stated that she was honored to receive the award as she always dreamt of an audience at BET Awards before rising to fame.
Megan was also presented the award for viewers choice of the year with her hit track “Hot Girl Summer” which features veteran female rapper Nicki Minaj, edging Chris Brown and Drake’s ‘No Guidance’, DaBaby’s ‘Bop, Future and Drake’s ‘Life Is Good’, Roddy Ricch’s ‘The Box’ and The Weeknd’s ‘Heartless’.
