Jojo Siwa To Make History as 1st ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Contestant to Compete With Same-Sex Partner
Jojo Siwa is set to make history when she hits the dance floor on season 30 of Dancing With the Stars, becoming the first contestant to compete with a same-sex partner!
On Thursday, ABC announced that the 18-year-old star is one of the 15 celebrities joining the dance competition show later this fall.
Jojo, who came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community earlier this year, will be the only female dancer in the show’s 30 seasons to dance with another woman.
To celebrate the great news, Siwa, who is dating Kylie Prew, said via the show’s official Instagram account on Thursday, “I am so excited to be a part of Dancing With the Stars season 30. And to be dancing with a girl I think it’s so cool.”
She added, “It’s going to be the best ever. I can’t wait to just dance every week. I can’t wait to meet my partner. Oh, my gosh, there are so many things I’m so excited for.”
Months after coming out as a member of the LGBTQ community, JoJo Siwa opened up about how she labels her sexuality. “Technically I would say that I am pansexual, because that’s how I have always been my whole life is just like, my human is my human,” she said back in April.
Siwa said Prew — whom she first met on a cruise ship — “never cares about what the internet says about us” and that “it’s nice to have somebody in my life like that.”
