Four Men Charged In Overdose Death Of Actor Michael K. Williams Video Of Alleged Drug Deal Surfaces

In September 2021, we lost ‘The Wire‘ actor Michael K. Williams. His death was ruled an accidental overdose of fentanyl and other drugs.

Four men have now been charged in the actor’s death and new video allegedly shows the drug deal going down.

On Wednesday (February 2), the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced that Irvin Cartagena, 39; Hector Robles, 57; Luiz Cruz, 56; and Carlos Macci,  were “each charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl analogue, fentanyl, and heroin.”

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.

Cartagena is also being charged with causing the death of the 54-year-old actor and will appear in federal court on Thursday (February 3).  He is facing a life sentence. A new video has also been released via prosecutors allegedly showing the actor purchasing fentanyl-laced heroin from those being charged.

Also, the U.S. attorney’s office says the four defendants went on to sell drugs throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan following Williams’ death — which an examiner revealed was due to “acute intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl, p-fluorofentanyl, heroin and cocaine.”
