Kindergartners Left ‘Dizzy’ After Drinking Margaritas At Michigan Elementary School

A little girl brought Jose Cuervo margaritas to her school in Michigan that left her classmates, who were merely kindergartners feeling “woozy,” per Fox Detroit.

The news outlet reports that the young children drank the ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages from Dixie cups while the class was partaking in snack time. The girl managed to bring the drinks to school in her book bag.

The student’s parents were upset after learning their daughters took a few sips of the drink. A mother, Dominique Zanders said, her daughter “felt woozy, a little dizzy.”

“The girl poured it in her cup and she drank it and the girl ended up telling her what it is, and she went and told the teacher there is liquor in this cup, and the teacher gave her a funny face,” the mother continued.

Another mother, Alexis Smith, said, her daughter took up to five sips and added that her classmate knew that the drink contained alcohol.

The school responded to the incident in a statement that said, “while we try to keep an eye on everything our students bring to school, that’s simply not possible. [Unfortunately], these types of adult beverages can be easily mistaken for child-friendly drinks.”

Smith added, “if your child knows what it is, nothing wrong with it – but they should know not to touch it. That it’s not for kids.”
