At Least 6 People Were Shot In California Church Mass Shooting, 1 Dead, Multiple In Critical Condition

Another mass shooting has occurred, this time in in Laguna Woods, California at the Geneva Presbyterian Church, it’s been reported.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced the news on Sunday, sharing that a handful of units were sent to the scene where one suspect was detained, and an assumed weapon was seized.

According to the statement made on Twitter, four people were said to have been critically wounded while one is currently facing minor injuries. “All victims are adults and are enroute to the hospital. One victim is deceased at the scene,” the OC Sheriff continued.

At least six people were shot, with one person pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. No further details have been shared as of yet, but the roads leading to the church have been restricted as an investigation is being performed.

It’s unclear whether the shooting has any relation to the incident in Buffalo, New York, where 18-year-old Payton Gendron shot at least 10 people dead at a supermarket, with sources saying that the shooting was “racially motivated.”
