Ohio Police Release Bodycam Footage In Shooting Of Jayland Walker

There was outrage last week when an unarmed black man Jayland Walker was shot dead by Ohio police. Jayland of Akron, OH was killed by police after they shot 90 rounds, striking him 60 + times.

According to authorities, Akron Police attempted to stop Walker for a routine traffic stop around 12:30 am Monday, when Walker led them on a high speed chase throughout the city.

After the chase, Walker got out of the car and started to flee on foot. Police say he was a threat and fired off over 90 rounds of bullets, striking Jayland 60 + times.

Just in time, Ohio police have now released the bodycam footage in fatal shooting of Jayland Walker. The gory clip has since been making rounds on social media, garnering mixed reactions from folks online.

Eight officers, 7 white and 1 black, have been placed on administrative leave. During the investigation, a gun was found inside the car. Walker was not armed at the time of the shooting. Walker’s family is devastated and is demanding justice.

“Why? Why did this happen in such a manner, such a terrible, terrible way,” Walker’s mother, Pamela, said Thursday in an exclusive interview with 3News Investigates.

The investigation is still on. Protesters have since filled the streets of Akron to condemn this senseless murder.
