Woman On TikTok Claims Brides Hire Her To Be Their Bridesmaid

A woman has revealed that brides have previously hired her to be a part of their bridal party in a viral TikTok video.

The video uploaded by Bridesmaidforhire has garnered over 5 million views with more than 900 comments from shocked TikTok users.

Some users were even interested in the easy gig, as one user wrote, “You get hired to be a bridesmaid? [Where] do I sign up.” While another user seemed confused by the act, commenting, “I can’t believe we as a society have gone this far and actually need this as a service.”

The video was captioned, “The toughest part of this,” while the text on the video reads, “75% of the time, when people hire me to be their bridesmaid, it’s a complete secret and we don’t talk ever again after the wedding ends. And that part never gets easy.”

In a follow-up video, responding to a comment that read, “so complete stranger shows up and nobody has questions,” the woman says that she never reveals herself as a stranger, instead, she introduces herself as a friend from a particular area in the bride’s life, for instance, “a friend from yoga class, art class, grad school, kindergarten.”

She added that no one questions her presence because no one is aware that she is hired to be a bridesmaid.

In another video, she added that after the wedding, most brides request that they “cut all ties” because she is maintaining a fake identity during the wedding, which causes things to become confusing when the job is complete. She went on to say “it’s best to cut off all communication” because some brides don’t tell their future husbands that they’ve hired a bridesmaid.
