Latto Says She Would’ve Still Performed But They Tried To Sabotage Her Reputation

Latto is calling out FAMU for trying to “sabotage” her reputation by claiming she tried to skip out on a booking they believe they paid for.

This upcoming weekend, Latto and City Girls are supposed to headline FAMU’s homecoming concert, but to the students’ surprise, Latto won’t be in attendance.

Yesterday, Latto took to her Instagram story to let the student body know that she wasn’t booked for the concert despite her name being released as a performer. Confused, students began to question the school’s Student Government Association for falsely advertising the lineup for a concert where some students paid over $100 for a ticket. SGA quickly released a statement today claiming they did, infact, book Latto and they have the receipts to prove it.

“On September 14, 2022, WRLD Entertainment communicated that artists, City Girls and Latto, were officially booked for the 2022 FAMU Homecoming Concert and provided wire transfers reflecting so. Like you, we were extremely disappointed when, on Monday, October 25, Latto announced she was not booked for the event; however, WRLD Entertainment denies Latto’s assertions. She has been booked for the event.”

Well, Latto wasn’t feeling the announcement and decided not to attend the concert at all! She took to her social media to explain that there was miscommunication between the promoter whom the school booked with and her team.

She said that she would’ve worked around it for the sake of putting on the show for her fans, but she didn’t like how the statement was released to make it seem like she was lying about not being booked.

“My team was contacted directly this morning and asked if we could work something out due to the third party promoter falsely advertising me. ME BEING UNDERSTANDING, I was willing to make it work even though I’m currently on tour. BUT since they brought incorrect info online, sabotaging my reputation, l’m gonna pass on the offer now.”
