Christian Conservative Sues Employee After Being Fired Over Tweet Condemning Pride Month

According to Fox News, a Christian politician in the UK named King Lawal is currently fighting back against his former employer.

He was suspended by his local Conservative Party and resigning from his position at Groundwork Northampton for a tweet he made condemning Pride month celebrations with his religious viewpoints.

In the tweet, Lawal said in a now-deleted tweet, “When did Pride become a thing to celebrate? Because of Pride Satan fell as an angel. Pride is not a virtue but a Sin. Those who have Pride should Repent of their sins and return to Jesus Christ. He can save you. #PrideMonth #Pride23 #PrideParade.”

North Northamptonshire Conservative Group, Lawal’s former Conservative Party, spoke out with another publication and said, “We continue to be committed to reducing inequality within our communities and creating a fair and inclusive environment for everyone. We fully support our LGBTQ+ community, as we support all communities.”

Lawal, speaking to Fox News, says that he is “still feeling quite upset, but I’m so ready to fight back, as well. I’m not wanting to be silenced anymore, and I’m wanting to see more Christians stand up and fight back.”

Lawal was also removed from Northampton Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT).

The NHFT put out a statement saying, “North Northamptonshire Council changed its partner governor for Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in an annual council meeting on 25 May 2023. Therefore, the councilor in question did not hold the position of governor with Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust since this time.”
