Army Soldier In Alaska Accused Of Fatally Shooting His Newlywed Wife, His Her Body In Storm Drain & Reported Her Missing

A US Army soldier is being accused of killing his wife, hiding her body in a storm drain, and helping his mother-in-law look for her knowing she was dead.

According to the New York Post, Zarrius Hildabrand, 21, has been charged with first-degree murder, as well as tampering with evidence pertaining to his wife’s death.

His wife, Saria Hildabrand, 21, body was found in a storm drain near the couple’s one-bedroom apartment in Anchorage, Alaska this past Thursday with a gunshot wound to her temple.

Zarrius posted on Facebook Wednesday saying, “Updated information on my missing wife PLEASE SHARE AND REPOST!!!!!!,” while sharing a missing poster of his late wife.

The day before, police interviewed Zarrius at their apartment and noted two pistols on the kitchen table; one fully loaded and one missing a single bullet. They also noticed that the only bed in the apartment was missing a sheet and was covered by a mattress pad with a package of new sheets with it.

Saria’s mother gave a statement after his arrest, “He walked around for hours with me searching for my daughter knowing that she was dead. He lied to me multiple times and tried to play it off like he was a concerned husband.”

Police detectives were granted a search warrant and found the mattress in the apartment completely saturated in human blood. They noted that blood was also in the bathroom and other floors in the apartment. Zarrius appeared in court on Friday and is currently held on a $500K bond.
