NYPD Seizes Over $30M Worth Of Fake Designer On Canal Street

NYPD is cracking down on those fake bags y’all see on several New York corners.

According to Daily Mail, the department seized $30million worth of counterfeit goods and arrested eight illegal street vendors in a huge crackdown on canal street.

What’s crazy about all of this is that these sales literally happen in broad daylight as most vendors set up shop right in the open on busy street corners.

Cops confiscated fake gear including Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent and Nike products. What’s interesting is that it seems like police let them get away with it some days but then will have a random bust.

The NYPD has previously raided the same spot numerous times, seizing $2million worth of goods last August and $10million in November.

The NYPD tweeted: ‘Counterfeit trade hurts legitimate businesses and violates our laws.’

“NYPD just trying to get early Xmas gifts for they wives,” someone commented. “Seize the factories that made them not the vendors that bought them,” another person wrote. “The families of these vendors are going to be struggling because of this seize,” someone else added.
