Wendy’s Manager Charged With Theft After Making $20K Off Of Fake Employee

A formal general manager at a Wendy’s in Pennsylvania is being charged with theft after finessing the company off of $20k.

According to police, she made up a fake employee so she could collect the check, racking up nearly $20k. Yes, you read that correctly!

According to documents obtained by Mannheim Township Police Department, Linda Johnson, created an employee by the name of William Bright.

For 128 shifts, Johnson managed to build up $19,898 between June 2021 and May of 2022.

The restaurant initially busted Johnson after finding what they described as a “discrepancy” in an audit and contacted the police.

Johnson admitted her crime to law enforcement, sharing that she did indeed make the fake employee and was depositing the money in her cash app account.

The restaurant’s insurer paid off $16k from the incident’s debt.
