Leslie Jones Says She’s Upset Chris Rock Had To Attend Therapy With Daughters After Will Smith Slapped Him

Comedian Leslie Jones is speaking out about the infamous slaptism that Will Smith gave Chris Rock for joking about his wife’s hair.

During an interview with People Magazine, she shared that she was upset about the slap for a long time.

“For a long a** time, I was just mad. Chris Rock did a f***** joke. I know Will too….I was like, you couldn’t handle that sh** afterwards. This is the Oscars. The whole world is watching,” she said.

“I was like, ‘Chris, when he got up, why didn’t you run?’ I would’ve been running around that stage like, ‘Will, calm down. Jada, call your man!’”

Jones says Chris had to go to therapy with his daughters and that she was so mad, she envisioned herself going on the stage and handling it. She also defended Chris’ decision to joke about the altercation during several shows.

“Everybody got pissed off about him doing a special. That’s what comedians do. Instead of us going crazy, we f****** go talk about it on the f****** stage. Thank God we’ve got the stage,” she explained.

Jones says her only wish for Will is that he would’ve issued an apology to Chris that same night.
