11-Year-Old Boy Shoots Two Of His 13-Year-Old Teammates After Being Bullied Over A Bag Of Chips
An 11-year-old boy has to spend the next few weeks in juvenile detention after he allegedly shot 2 of his teammates after football practice over a bag of chips. According to WFTV9, the incident unfolded after a Pop Warner football practice in Apopka, FL.
In the surveillance video, you can see the 11-year-old boy running to his mother’s car and reaching under the seat to grab the gun out of her box. He then turns around and shoots towards the crowd, striking 2 13-year-olds, one in the back and one in the arm.
Witnesses told police the 13-year-old who was shot in the back had been bullying the shooter and fighting with him over a bag of chips. Prior to the incident, the 13-year-old victim was reportedly chasing the 11-year-old in the parking lot which allegedly led to the shooting.

The second 13-year-old victim was hit in the elbow by the same bullet. Both victims are expected to fully recover.
The boy is currently facing attempted murder charges. The suspect is too young to be charged as an adult in Florida, but a judge did determine that the boy should stay in juvenile detention for at least 3 more weeks despite his family asking for home detainment.
Reporters in the courtroom say the boy was crying hysterically when the ruling was announced and he is now on suicide watch. The boy’s lawyer says his detainment is unjust.
“All he’s saying is, ‘I want to go home,’” attorney Robert Mandell said. “There has to be a better way to address situations like this than keeping an 11-year-old in jail, in a padded room, who’s on suicide watch, who hasn’t spent a night away from his mother in his whole life.”
