Racist Man Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison For Harassing His Black Neighbors

Justice has been served! A racist Philadelphia man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for harassing his black neighbors!

According to The Inquirer, Edward Mathews was first arrested after a video of him went viral that showed him verbally assaulting his black neighbor.

In the video, he called the man a “monkey” and “n-gger” constantly and threatened to get violent. He even admitted to running black people out of the neighborhood and bragged about the police not being able to do anything about it. The video sparked outrage in the community, which lead to Edward being detained and charged with multiple counts including bias intimidation.

After further investigation, police learned that Edward was a whole menace in this neighborhood! They found evidence of Edward calling multiple neighbors the n-word, throwing feces at some of their properties, and shooting at them with BB guns. They also discovered hallucinogenic mushrooms during a search of his home, which led to an additional charge of drug possession.

Edwards pleaded guilty to all the charges and begged the judge to give him a lighter sentence. Edward tearfully apologized for his actions and says he regrets how he handled the situation.

Edward, who has spent the last 2 1/2 years in jail, lost his home as well as his wife, who filed for divorce while he was in the slammer awaiting trial. The judge decided to sentence him to 8 years in prison, with a mandatory time of 4 years to be spent behind bars.

“Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future,” he told the judge during his statement. “I want to commit to rebuild the community.”
