Two Teens Arrested For Almost Stabbing A Man To Death On A NY Subway After Man Allegedly Told Them ‘Happy New Year’

Two teens are behind bars after they allegedly almost stabbed a man to death all because he told them “Happy New Year” inside a NY subway platform.

According to the NY Post, Carlos Pilliza, 29, was waiting for the subway inside a Bronx subway platform on New Year’s Day when four teens arrived inside the same platform.

As he stood there, Emmanuel Awah and Elias Afflada, both 19, and the two others, walked up on Carlos, to which he greeted them with a “Happy New Year”. Then, all of a sudden, the teens began to jump him! Then, one of the attackers pulled out “an unknown sharp object” and stabbed Carlos multiple times in the neck, upper torso and lower torso, according to police.

Carlos was rushed to a local hospital where he was initially listed in critical condition, but has now improved to a serious, but stable condition. While in the hospital, the police reinterviewed Carlos to get a better understanding of what actually happened to him.

Carlos told police he believed the teens were attempting to rob him, but he was unsure if they actually stole anything. Carlos’ father was also present to talk to the police, and he said he couldn’t believe his son was a victim of such a vicious crime.

“He is talking a little,” Carlos’ father said. “He just said ‘Happy New Year,’ and then four people were fighting him.”“It’s a terrible thing,” he added.

The teens are facing attempted murder charges, along with robbery and assault charges. The other teens connected to the crime plan on turning themselves in this week also.
