57-Year-Old Father Arrested for Allegedly Drugging 12-Year-Old Girls At His Daughter’s Sleepover

An Oregon father has turned himself into authorities after he was accused of drugging 3 12-year-old girls at a sleepover hosted by his daughter!

According to Oregon Live, last August in Lake Oswego, OR, a girl decided to invite her friends over her house for a girl’s night sleepover. It was all going well until the girl’s father, 57-year-old Michael Meyden, came downstairs to serve the girls smoothies that he made himself.

The drinks had “tiny white chunks throughout and sprinkled on top”. All the girls drank one except one girl, but Meyden insisted the girl drink the smoothie, which she ultimately did. Then, Meyden made the girls go to bed.

Once the girls were asleep, Meyden continued to walk down to the basement and check to see if the girls were sleeping by putting his finger under their noses and waving his hands in their faces. He also moved one girl’s arm and moved her body on the bed. The girl “remained awake in fear that Mr. Meyden was going to do something” to her friend. The girl said she felt Meyden standing and staring at them for a long period of time, but she continued to pretend to sleep for her safety.

When Meyden walked away, the girl immediately texted her parents to come pick her up at 1:43 am, saying “Mom please pick me up and say I had a family emergency. I don’t feel safe. I might not respond but please come get me (crying emoji), Please. Please pick up. Please. PLEASE!!”.

Her parents immediately came to get her, and they contacted the parents of the other girls too. At first, Meyden told the parents to come back in the morning, but the parents insisted on getting their kids right that moment.

The next day, the girl recalled she felt “woozy, hot and clumsy” after drinking the smoothie and subsequently blacked out, falling into a “‘thick, deep sleep’ that she had never experienced before”. After taking a drug test, it was discovered Meyden drugged the girls with benzodiazepine, a depressant that slows down the nervous system.
