Bishop Whitehead Found Guilty Of Fraud, Facing 45 Years In Prison
Bishop Whitehead Found Guilty Of Conning Church Member Out Of $90K, Bank Fraud, Extortion, Using Church Money For Designer Clothes And More

Apparently, it’s high time Bishop Whitehead laid that title down at the alter! The 46-year-old was “found guilty of wire fraud, attempted extortion, lying to the FBI and related charges stemming from three separate schemes,” per NY Daily News.

“The defendant was trusted by many in his community. He was the bishop of a small church in Brooklyn and a self-described businessman. He was a friend to the mayor of New York City,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Greenwood.

She says Whitehead abused the trust of his congregation and lied to them about knowing powerful figures in Hollywood all so he could get his little greedy hands on their money! What makes this even sadder is that he targeted an elderly mother of one of his members. He convinced her to give him $90K of her life savings.

Per the report, “He promised to use the money to buy a fixer-upper home that he would renovate for her to live in. And she believed the defendant — a man, who by that time, had become a mentor and spiritual adviser to her son.”

He didn’t do any of that though! He spent the money on designer clothes and a BMW instead. He even tried to extort a car repair man for a $5K job. His schemes didn’t stop there! He even created fake bank documents to get a $250,000 loan. This man thought he was Simon Guobadia or something.

Bishop Whitehead is currently facing 45 years in prison. As it stands, he will likely be trading in those Gucci suits for an orange jumpsuit.

“I’m sorry if my pastor comes to church in a Gucci suit with the Gucci print l’m gonna think he’s taking my money…” someone commented on the news. “Tubi: The paster who got 45 years in prison while wearing gucci suits,” another person wrote, referencing Tubi making movies out of real life situations.
