Miley Cyrus Set To Be Honored As A Disney Legend, Youngest Person In History To Receive This From The Company
Congratulations are in order for Miley Cyrus, following announcement that she will become the youngest entertainer to be named a Disney Legend. Miley Cyrus began her acting career at a very young age, 8, and at 13, Miley landed the lead role in the Disney Channel series “Hannah Montana”.
The 31 years old, the award-winning singer, songwriter and actress will be honored along 13 other entertainers at the Disney Legends Award Ceremony scheduled for Aug. 11 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
“To be named a Disney Legend is the highest honor our company can bestow on anyone, reserved for those whose talent and achievement have earned them an enduring place in our history,” the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger, noted in an online statement.

“The fourteen individuals to be honored as Disney Legends this year have each made extraordinary creative contributions across the worlds of Disney and we look forward to celebrating them at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event,” Bob continued in the online statement.
“The Show (Hannah Montana) premiered in March 2006 “to the largest audience for a Disney Channel Original Series, generating an average of 4.4 million viewers per episode,” the statement added.
Following the success of the first rendition of “Hannah Montana”, the teenage actress continued her Disney fame through the Best of Both Worlds Tour in 2007, her voice role in the Disney movie “Bolt” in 2008 and as well as her lead role in “Hannah Montana: The Movie” in 2009.
The other 13 people to be honored at the event include Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa, Joe Rohde and John Williams.
