A Woman In Oregon Is Suing Her Nail Salon For $1.75 Million After Claiming That A Manicure Gave Her Herpes
A woman is suing a nail salon out in Portland, Ore., after she says she got infected with herpes. According to the suit, the 23-year-old woman went to PDX Nails for an acrylic nail manicure on June 1, 2023.
The woman claims the nail tech didn’t use gloves and had their tools and drill bits in an Altoids mint container.
After she got her nails done, the woman said she noticed what appeared to be an infection and inflammation on her right index finger and started too feeling sick. She eventually went to urgent care and a swab test was done. Her test results showed she had contracted herpetic whitlow, also known as genital herpes.

The news was reposted by TNT and it’s been garnering mixed reactions. “Blaming Everybody But Her Man,” someone commented. “Ummm maam, she pulled her tools out of an altoids container and didn’t have gloves on and you didn’t get up and LEAVE?! Shut that whole place down, wtf!” another person wrote.
“Catching herpes thru a manicure is fckn insane, I hope she win every penny,” someone else penned. “If I see people doing unsanitary things, I leave immediately. Salon, restaurant, store, wherever,” another user commented.
“Oh god does anyone actually believe this? Homegirl had herpes long before her lil nail infection. Her lawsuit won’t go far lol,” someone added.
