Four Law Enforcement Officers Shot & Killed While Trying To Serve A Warrant In North Carolina

Four law enforcement officers were killed in a shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina while attempting to serve a warrant at a home.

According to CNN, among those killed was one deputy US Marshal and two local task force officers. A total of eight officers were shot during the incident.

The tragic situation happened while members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force were serving a warrant for possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

The officers were first shot at by the wanted suspect as they approached the home. The cops fatally shot the suspect in the front yard, Police Chief Johnny Jennings said.

A second person then fired on officers from inside the home. where a high-powered rifle was found. Three members of the US Marshals task force were killed.

Four Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were also shot, including one in critical condition, “fighting for his life” in the hospital, the police chief said. The other officers are in stable condition, he said.

A woman and a 17-year-old boy were found in the home after a three-hour standoff. The two are being questioned.
