15-Year-Old Girl Fatally Shot During Prom After Party And Several Other Teens Are Shot In Their Face And Arm

On Sunday, April 28, 15-year-old Chyell Paulk was tragically shot at an after-prom party. The family of the Irwin County High School student that died in the Fitzgerald shooting has spoken out.

According to WALB, Paulk was shot on the right side of her stomach and transferred to a hospital, where she died.

Three more students are also in recovery. One child was shot in the face and released on Monday; he is now recovering at home. A 14-year-old pupil was transferred to a Macon hospital for surgery on the arm where he was shot.

Channen Brown, 17, is facing murder charges in connection with the incident, but police believe there was another suspect who shot at the party and is still being identified.

“Everybody just loved her. She was like a light and when she walked in the room, you knew she was there,” she said. “ Chyell is forever 15, and I’m going to stand tall and stand strong to get justice for my baby.”

“Our government is banning TikTok before guns! This is America!!!” another person wrote. “She was so adorable. this stuff makes me feel so anxious about letting my daughters go out with friends where there are people I don’t know,” someone else shared.

“It’s always either fatal accidents or fatal shootings that happen at these proms and it’s honestly so sad!!! kids can’t even be kids anymore. tween life is so dead,” another user added.
