Florida Woman Sentenced To 30 Years In Prison For Shoplifting $20k Worth Of Designer Sunglasses, She Turned Down A 3-Year Plea Deal Before Hefty Sentence

A 29-year-old Florida woman will unfortunately be spending the next 30 years of her life behind bars after she was sentenced for shoplifting $20k worth of items.

According to Fox 13, Ernesha Atmore was caught stealing designer sunglasses from a Sunglass Hut store in Tampa, FL. Ernesha reportedly pulled up to the store with a cooler bag and began to put the shades inside.

When a worker approached her, she threatened them with a taser. She was eventually found a few days later with all the contraband in her car. She was arrested and charged with theft.

Because Ernesha already had an extensive history of shoplifting, this last time was the final straw. She was sentenced to 30 years in prison for her crimes.

The crazy part is, the prosecutors reportedly offered her a plea deal for 3-years, but she declined and decided to put her fate in the jury’s hands, which obviously didn’t work out well.

Ernesha also had two other theft cases pending during the trial for this one! The judge decided to add 6 more months to her 30-year sentence, which means she won’t get out until she’s 60 years old! Over some sunglasses.

“30 years is crazy, but to not take the plea deal when you know you guilty is even crazier,” someone commented on the news. “Turning down a plea and getting hit with the book gotta be a crazy feeling,” another person wrote.
